Finding Your Niche

Although it’s not difficult to set up a blog (especially with blogger.com), it is important for your blog to focus on a particular theme, or ‘niche’.Let’s begin by clarifying precisely what a ‘niche’ is.

In general, we could say that a niche is a focused, specialized area of expertise or experience. You will have a greater chance of succeeding online if you select a more narrow, as opposed to a broad, theme. The idea is to find a niche where the competition isn’t too stiff, yet the demand is still sufficiently high.

It might be helpful to think of a niche as a subtopic area of a larger theme. If your site focused on ‘golf’ for example, you’d encounter a lot of competition for that term, and so your site would have difficulty ranking highly amid such competition. You’d have a much higher chance of success if you focused on ‘how to improve your golf swing’, a much more narrow niche.

How Do You Stay Focused?

You may have heard this many times before, but it’s worth repeating. Most Internet marketers do not succeed online because they fail to take action.Let me add my own spin to this: it’s not just any action that’s important, but rather focused, meaningful, productive action.

You can read all the latest ebooks on how to succeed online, but unless your actions are results-oriented, you won’t move forward. Frustration ensues, and this is when most people give up.

If you’re just starting out, you have the advantage of recognizing this, thus avoiding the pitfalls of ‘running in place’. This is an especially challenging issue for Internet marketers who typically work out of their homes - and thus have to learn how to manage their time effectively and productively.

I purchased this product a couple of months back, and wanted to get a good feel for it before writing a review. For the past six months, Atomic Blogging has been the hottest blogging product on the market, and its reputation is well-deserved. eBay Loophole: Save 72% on Fees - Legally!

Did you know that you can legally save up to 72% on eBay fees? And it’s completely legal. If you’ve been selling on eBay for awhile, you know how the fees have continued to climb.

While I refer to this technique as a ‘loophole’, there’s really nothing sneaky or underhanded about it. It’s more a matter of exploiting a little-known and vastly underused strategy that will effectively keep money in your pocket. So how can you save big on eBay, with no coupons, promotional codes, or special eBay sales?

Get Paid for Content

How would you like to get paid for writing articles or blog posts? Want to get cash for photos? Would you like to share in the revenue earnings on social networking sites? There are lots of ways to make money online, and this is one terrific strategy to add to your suite of money-making strategies.

It’s a long list, but don’t let it overwhelm you. Bear in mind that the biggest challenge people face in making money online is that of getting bogged down with too much information at the expense of taking action. Try to keep it simple. Pick one or two items from the list and, as the saying goes, just do it!

Blogging for Profits Course: Day 10

Day 10 - Building Relationships with Other Blogs

Over the first nine lessons in this course, you’ve seen that setting up a blog is not difficult - but building a blog that will be recognized by others as an authority site will take time and effort on your part. Your goal should be to make at least one quality post per day. In terms of search engine rankings, it’s to your greater benefit to publish one post per day than to have long gaps of time between posts.

Eventually your blog will be recognized by other bloggers within your niche, and those bloggers will want to post a link to your site when they discover an interesting article or post on your blog that would benefit their visitors as well. Take advantage of these opportunities to increase traffic to your blog by thanking other bloggers who have referred their visitors to your site, and/or provide a reciprocal link back to their blog as well. Build good will, and you will build your reputation.

Blogging for Profits Course: Day 8

Day 8 - Monetizing Strategies: Part 1

One of your major tasks thus far in our course has been to produce high-quality, original content on your blog. Consistently producing great content is what will keep your visitors coming back, which will help generate traffic to your blog. There are a number of ways to generate profits from your blog, including Google’s popular Adsense program. The program is very easy to set up and implement, and can be extremely profitable. First, check out their website at http://adsense.google.com/, where you’ll find some excellent introductory information to the program. In a nutshell, here’s how it works.

Blogging for Profits Course: Day 7

Day 7 - Generating Traffic

Acquiring incoming links from other websites is not the only way to attract visitors to visit your blog. In this lesson, we’re going to explore alternative methods, both free and paid, to attract high quality traffic.

The first thing you can do to generate traffic is to regenerate all the content you’ve posted to your blog in another format. That is, you can turn your blog posts into ebooks, manuals, newsletter content pieces (delivered by autoresponder), or articles. If you re-write the content as articles, you can then submit them to article directories. These article directories are like aggregators that collect articles of similar themes together in one place, so they receive thousands of qualified visitors every day.
